How do I know if I am a candidate for eyelid lift?

Blepharoplasty, also known as an Eyelid Lift, is a cosmetic surgery procedure performed to improve the appearance of the upper and/or lower eyelids. Eyelid sagging, or eyelid ptosis, commonly occurs in both men and women and can cause both aesthetic and functional concerns. In severe cases the ptosis can partially or fully impede one’s field of vision. While blepharoplasty may be performed to create a more youthful appearance in those with unwanted signs of aging around their eyes, ptosis can actually occur in both older and younger people.

Blepharoplasty candidates should be in good mental and physical health with realistic expectations for the procedure, and they should be non-smokers. The blepharoplasty procedure can help improve impaired vision caused by ptosis, create a more youthful appearance of the upper and/or lower eyelids, reduce lines, creases, and wrinkles, reduce headaches due to strain of the muscles above the eyes, eliminate the heavy feeling of the eyelids and create a more energized, yet natural appearance.
